Sarah Rosales

Originally from El Paso, Texas, Sarah Rosales has over 17 years of playing experience and has now made it to the Midwest to pursue a Masters in Cello Performance at the University of South Dakota, studying under Dr. Sonja Kraus. Sarah has completed two undergraduate degrees in Cello Performance and in Studio Art at the University of Arizona, where they studied under Dr. Theodore Buchholz at the Fred Fox School of Music. Over the years, Sarah has acquired a number of performance opportunities, including at the University of Arizona Symphony and chamber program, the Killington Music Festival in Killington, Vermont, and the International Summer Music Institute at the University of North Texas, where they have performed as both a soloist and an ensemble member. Currently, Sarah serves as the Principle Cellist for the USD Symphony Orchestra, and is a member of Ensemble Zusammen and the USD Chamber Orchestra. Sarah has previous experience teaching through the University of Arizona String Project, Allegro School of Music in Tucson, Arizona, and private lessons.

Sarah is passionate about the exposure of marginalized and underrepresented groups in the arts. On their free time, Sarah enjoys other creative activities such as drawing and playing Dungeons and Dragons.
