Any child who has tried to catch lizards will find their movements perfectly depicted in this solo. As lizards move quickly with lots of twists and turns, so does this piece. The right hand melody is chromatic, yet stays mostly in one position and does not require any finger crossings. The left hand provides a more static accompaniment to the melody but does cross over occasionally and moves chromatically in the B section.
