Funk, swing, and rock 'n' roll are the styles featured in this medley, which was written to inspire and showcase the bass section. In addition, instruments are challenged with jazz rhythms, bowings, and harmonies. A section has been included for improvised solos, which can be repeated as desired. Trading 4's or alternating solos of 4 measures each among individual bassists is recommended. A sample solo is also provided. An optional drum set part is included which helps to set each style, keeping the ensemble together.
