The mice are on the move in this entertaining novelty march. Throughout the work, the audience will chuckle at the sound of the squeaking-mouse battle cry (drawing the bow behind the bridge). Complete with everything including a mouse fight (er, "dog fight") section, this is sure to be a huge crowd favorite!
The main theme of this ABA piece is a perpetual motion suggesting the scurrying of mice. These particular mice are not scurrying randomly, but are well organized and on the move. Each section of the string orchestra performs the tune, as well as the squeaking-mouse battle cry with bow drawn behind the bridge. The B section suggests a pause from the march for an inspirational rally before continuing their mission.
