This is the gorgeous second movement from Symphony No. 1 by Russian composer Vasily Kalinnikov as arranged for strings by Caryn Wiegand Neidhold. It is a beautiful symphonic movement that stands on its own. It is the epitome of the late 19th century romantic style with its lush harmonic choices and textures. This version is a welcome addition to the string orchestra repertoire.
