Inspired by Arches National Monument in Utah, this music makes excellent use of contrasts of expression. The outer sections consist of a jagged and jaunty theme played entirely pizzicato. Soon it opens out into a beautiful lyrical section that gives a chance for a full and resonant sound. Modern and fresh, this is a nice work that will show off the growing skills of your developing ensemble.
