Located in France, the Pont du Gard is one of the best preserved of the ancient Roman aqueducts. Aqueducts carry water, and so I tried to capture this imagery through the flowing 8th note accompaniment which appears frequently in the piece. Aqueducts are also bridges, and many times in this piece, you will need to cross the bridge of your instrument as you play the melody or accompaniment of the piece!
